Department Summary

The Department of Internal Medicine and Geriatrics at the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC) is committed to excellence in patient care, education, research, and community engagement. As part of UNT Health, the department provides comprehensive primary and specialty care to all individuals across the region.

Position Overview

UNT Health, the academic clinical practice for the University of North Texas Health Science Center, is seeking a dedicated Dermatologist to join our multidisciplinary clinical team. This position supports collaborative clinical and academic efforts to enhance access, quality, and continuity of care across our community and affiliated partners.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in clinical care, a commitment to medical education, and a collaborative spirit consistent with the mission and values of UNT Health and TCOM.

Minimum Qualifications



  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of an accredited residency program in Dermatology.
  • Board eligible or board certified in Dermatology.
  • Eligible for or holds an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Texas.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Strong clinical knowledge and skills in the field of Dermatology.
  • Ability to deliver patient-centered, evidence-based care.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to teaching and mentoring students and residents in a clinical learning environment.
  • Ability to work effectively within an interprofessional team.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, compassion, and respectful engagement with all individuals.


Preferred Qualifications



  • MD/DO degree from an accredited institution
  • Board eligible or board certification in Dermatology
  • Experience in academic or teaching environments.
  • Experience in both hospital and outpatient settings (as applicable).
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across disciplines and clinical settings.


Required License/Registration/Certifications



  • Current Texas medical license or eligibility to obtain one.
  • DEA certification for prescribing controlled substances (if applicable).


Job Duties



  • Provide direct patient care through UNT Health clinics and affiliated clinical sites.
  • Teach and supervise medical students, residents, and other learners in clinical settings.
  • Participate in scholarly, quality improvement, or research activities aligned with departmental goals.
  • Contribute to departmental and institutional committees or initiatives.
