Job Description:

As the Director of Signal Integrity (SI), you will lead a globally distributed team of SI/PI engineers responsible for ensuring robust signal and power integrity across advanced electronic designs. This role requires a strategic leader who can balance technical depth with organizational leadership, driving innovation and operational excellence in high-speed design environments.

You will oversee the development, analysis, and optimization of SI/PI performance for complex systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver solutions that meet stringent performance and reliability requirements. Your leadership will shape design methodologies, influence technology roadmaps, and ensure alignment with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and manage a worldwide team of SI/PI engineers, fostering collaboration and technical excellence.

  • Define team objectives, allocate resources, and ensure timely delivery of projects and solutions.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance SI/PI capabilities and reduce design cycle times.

Technical Expertise

  • Oversee design and modeling of power distribution networks and high-density I/O interfaces on PCBs, packages, connectors, and probe cards.

  • Address critical SI/PI parameters such as signal reflections, bandwidth, crosstalk, and impedance control.

  • Establish and enforce design constraints, specifications, and best practices for PCB and package layouts.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner with internal design teams, customers, and external stakeholders across multiple global sites.

  • Define and negotiate technical specifications aligned with business goals and customer requirements.

  • Provide technical guidance and training to design organizations to strengthen SI/PI fundamentals.

Innovation & Development

  • Support probe card development activities, ensuring compliance with SI/PI requirements.

  • Drive adoption of advanced modeling, measurement, and characterization techniques to optimize performance.

  • Influence technology roadmaps and contribute to strategic planning for future SI/PI challenges.

Skills:

Allegro PCB Designer, ANSYS HFSS, ANSYS SIwave, Electrical Designs, Integrity Management, MATLAB, Packaging Technologies, Printed Circuit Boards (PCB), Signal Integrity, Simulation Modeling

Education & Experience:

Minimum of 12+ years of relevant experience in leadership roles, with a Bachelor's degree; or 10 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 8 years experience; or equivalent experience| Required

Pay Range:

$192,400.00 - $252,525.00

Pay Range Explained:

This role in Livermore, California pays between $192,400.00 and $252,525.00 per year, depending on your experience, skills, and background. Pay may vary in other locations. We offer a full benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, a 401(k) with company match, employee stock purchase plan (ESPP), and paid time off. You'll also be eligible for quarterly profit-sharing bonuses and flexible spending or savings accounts.
