Job Overview

This position is responsible for the electrical design of instrumentation circuits for medical electronic equipment as well as serves as electrical lead on a project team. Designs analog and power supply circuits with experience in the design of digital circuits including embedded microprocessor, DSP's (Digital Signal Processors) and electrical architecture. Emphasis on the design of patient connected electronics, e.g. Electro-Cardiogram (ECG) and Blood Pressure (BP) monitoring. A deep understanding of signal processing and system modeling is required. Provides the highest level of technical advice, consulting, design, and decision-making across a broad range of electrical engineering issues.

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties

* Design medical instrumentation electronics 35%
* Prepare Requirements, Validation, WCA and other documents
* Develop detailed electrical designs and system architecture
* Participate in cross-functional design teams
* This position is responsible for electrical design, architecture and technical leadership
* Recommends and implements design and development practices
* Recommends hiring, training, and performance management
* Provide mentorship for junior engineers; may supervise other Electrical Engineers, various levels from Engineering Technician co-ops to Senior Engineers

Minimum Requirements

* MS in Electrical Engineering with minimum of 15+ years of experience in performing Electrical Engineering design and development.
* Education that includes analog design, power supply design, digital design, embedded software architecture and implementation of industry standard interfaces

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Widely recognized as a leader in the field. Internal / external influencer

* Capable of discussing engineering issues and ideas in trained areas of electrical engineering, technology and other disciplines.
* Ensures alignment between strategy and technical initiatives
* Design experience in embedded microprocessor or signal acquisition, power and analog circuits design
* Maintains expert technical knowledge in one or more areas of the electrical engineering discipline.
* Possess an understanding of medical device requirements across the spectrum of electrical, software, biomedical, and medical device safety
* Expert knowledge in medical device standards with the ability to design for compliance.
* Ability to create and review design analyses and simulations using tools such as pSpice, MathCad, and MatLab/SIMULINK. Follow up on the analysis of the designs and make recommendations for improvement.
* Expert reviewer supporting within and across department technical review
* Sets best of practice example for peers

$200K-$230K / 30% STIP
