Digital Enterprise Technology (DET) is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead Global Payroll Systems within the CIO Organization. This strategic leader will own the comprehensive technology roadmap for Workday Payroll and third-party payroll vendors and supporting technologies across our international operations. This role will oversee the end-to-end technology roadmap for Workday Payroll, ADP, and other regional payroll platforms, driving modernization and innovation across our international payroll ecosystem. You'll partner with Payroll, HR, Compliance and Finance to solve complex international payroll challenges - ensuring accuracy, scalability, and a world-class employee experience across all markets.

What You Will Do:

  • Product Vision and Strategy

    • Define product vision and strategy for Global Payroll Systems aligned with company objectives and international market trends

    • Align payroll technology with corporate globalization goals - driving operational excellence and employee satisfaction across 40+ countries.

    • Develop long-term roadmap focused on innovation, user experience, scalability, and compliance driving operational excellence and employee satisfaction across 40+ countries

    • Leverage your existing expertise in global payroll technologies to guide strategic decisions

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Collaborate with engineering, business partners, compliance teams, legal, and operations to ensure alignment on payroll product goals

    • Lead cross-functional teams across multiple time zones to deliver impactful results

    • Influence business and product strategy based on market opportunities, regulatory changes, and customer feedback

  • Product Enhancement and Development

    • Oversee platform improvements that streamline global payroll processes, including employee onboarding, payroll management, reporting, and compliance workflows

    • Drive automation and standardization across international payroll processes, reducing manual touchpoints and risk.

    • Influence strategic decisions across DET and the broader enterprise through insights on market trends, global regulations, and operational efficiency

  • Compliance and Risk Management

    • Ensure platforms remain compliant with evolving labor laws, payroll regulations, and industry standards across multiple countries

    • Partner with legal and compliance teams to mitigate risks and support regulatory requirements

    • Navigate complex international tax requirements, data privacy regulations (GDPR, etc.), and cultural considerations

  • Data-Driven Decision Making

    • Use data and analytics to measure platform performance, compliance health, and user satisfaction.

    • Define success metrics (KPIs) across accuracy, timeliness, automation, adoption, and compliance.

    • Leverage insights from analytics and regulatory feedback to continuously evolve the product roadmap.

What We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a strategic, data-driven product leader who thrives at the intersection of technology, compliance, and global operations. You bring deep expertise in payroll platforms and a proven ability to lead teams through complexity to deliver measurable results.

  • Extensive Global Payroll Product Management Experience: 8-10 years of product management experience for payroll systems in large global corporations, with significant time at a senior level across multiple payroll platforms

  • Deep Payroll Systems Expertise: 5+ years of hands-on experience with Workday Payroll, ADP, or similar enterprise platforms, supporting multi-country and international payroll operations.

  • Exceptional Leadership and Collaboration: Proven ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams across multiple time zones, including product managers, engineers, compliance teams, and stakeholders.

  • Strategic and Data-Driven Mindset: Ability to think strategically about payroll product direction while navigating complex regulatory requirements. Strong analytical skills using payroll data, compliance metrics, and KPIs to drive continuous improvement.

  • Customer-Centric Approach: Track record of championing employee needs across diverse markets and translating them into meaningful payroll product enhancements.

  • Strong Communication and Influence: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to explain complex payroll concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Natural ability to build relationships and influence across teams.

For New York-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $200,800 to $276,100.
