Description Position Summary: The Lead Maintenance Worker is responsible for overseeing and performing skilled maintenance and repair work for company facilities, equipment, and grounds. This role serves as the on-site technical expert and may provide work direction and training to other maintenance staff or outside contractors, ensuring all work is completed efficiently, safely, and to high quality standards. Pay Range: $18.42 - $26.32 per hour. Requirements Technical Maintenance & Repair * Execute and lead the team in scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) routines on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, roofing, and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal functionality and longevity. * Diagnose and promptly repair complex mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural issues across the facility. * Demonstrate proficiency in basic to intermediate repairs of commercial building systems, including minor HVAC component replacement, ballast and outlet replacement, and general carpentry/painting. * Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work performed, materials used, and equipment service history. Team Leadership & Coordination * Work independently, ability to multitask, and delegate. * Receive, prioritize, and assign work orders (WOs) to maintenance team members or contractors, ensuring timely completion. * Provide on-the-job training and technical guidance to junior maintenance staff. * Ensure all team members adhere to strict safety protocols (e.g., Lockout/Tagout, confined space, proper PPE use) and comply with all federal, state, and local building codes and regulations. * Manage and maintain inventory of parts, supplies, and tools, initiating purchase requests as needed to prevent work stoppages. Facility & Grounds Upkeep * Conduct regular inspections of the facility and grounds to identify and proactively address potential hazards or maintenance needs. * Oversee or perform basic groundskeeping tasks, pressure washing, or minor landscaping touch-ups. Additional duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Education & Experience * High School Diploma or GED is required. Technical or vocational training in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, or a related trade is highly preferred. * A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in facilities maintenance, commercial property maintenance, or a related field. * Previous experience in a lead, supervisory, or mentorship role is preferred. Technical Skills * Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. * Strong working knowledge of electrical systems up to 240V, commercial plumbing, and HVAC systems. * Skilled in the use of standard hand and power tools, as well as specialized maintenance equipment. Core Competencies * Proven ability to lead by example, motivate a small team, and manage multiple priorities effectively. * Excellent diagnostic and critical thinking skills to resolve complex technical issues independently. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members, management, and external vendors. Additional Requirements: * Must successfully clear DOJ and FBI fingerprint checks. * Must be cleared by ORR. * Must be at least 21 years of age. * Valid California driver's license and current auto insurance. * Must provide proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases (e.g., Varicella, MMR, Tdap, TB, Influenza). * Completion of all required ORR trainings, including Employee Misconduct Acknowledgment, Code of Conduct, and Sexual Abuse and Harassment Prevention. | |
