Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
Position Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Engineer with a robust Systems Engineering background to join our Nuclear Weapons Security (NWS) Systems team. The ideal candidate is well-versed in technology, processes, and the specific program sets they will support. They must possess a thorough understanding of the mission, customers, and future vision relevant to the program. The Senior DPME will oversee various engineering projects, manage resources efficiently, and ensure programs stay on track.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership across a range of technical activities and program sets within the NWS Systems engineering team.
- Act as the corporate steward for engineering technical capabilities, including design, integration, production support, system certifications, proposal support, strategic initiatives, and technical studies.
- Collaborate with Technical Leads, including DPMEs, IPT Leads, and Chiefs, to balance staffing and resources across execution teams, ensuring successful mission outcomes.
- Support strategic initiatives and innovation within the business, including proposal support and addressing short-term emerging tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the execution of multiple engineering programs/projects and regularly report to the SEM/DOE.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team.
- Manage each project's lifecycle from conception to completion, emphasizing technical soundness and resource efficiency.
- Prioritize resources, including staffing and labs, to resolve conflicts within execution teams.
- Serve as the primary interface for the Director and BA Chief Engineer, augmenting the DPME-PM relationship for individual programs or projects.
- Support technical roadmap and IRAD planning/execution.
- Assist in new business endeavors and ad hoc requests, either directly or through the assignment of engineering staff.
- Ensure necessary engineering support for major program milestones, including system sell-offs and certifications.
- Guarantee customer meeting coverage.
- Develop and/or review statements of work with accurate time and cost estimates.
- Analyze user requirements and usability metrics to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Apply architectural and functional specifications to each project.
- Collaborate with the design team to create accurate and detailed mockups for customer approval.
- Meet with customers to refine and evaluate requirements, strategy, and content needs.
- Enforce processes and standards across program/project sets.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's of Science in Engineering, a related specialized area or field and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
- Substantial leadership skills and proven team building and motivation skills
- Proven problem-solving skills in complex environments
- Proven experience in Systems Engineering and project management.
- Strong understanding of technology, processes, and program-specific requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage resources and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams and stakeholders.

Target salary range: USD $177,683.00/Yr. - USD $197,118.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
