Position Summary

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide engineering development and support on small to medium-sized projects and/or individual components of larger more complex subsea projects.


Duties And Responsibilities
  • Perform conceptual design work, engineering calculations, and interpret analysis results.
  • Prepare and check manufacturing drawings.
  • Write and/or review technical proposals, equipment evaluations and sourcing.
  • Interface with customers and other project managers (both internal & external) and provide engineering status and progress reports as needed.
  • Prepare technical procedures (i.e. factory acceptance test, load test procedure, etc.) and technical specifications (i.e. scope of supply, master document list, design specification, etc.).
  • Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, applicable standards (ISO, API and ANSI) and related specifications.
  • Ensure all designs are of compatible materials and components taking into consideration environmental requirements.
  • Perform design reviews and presentations with internal and external customers.
  • Troubleshoot on the shop floor as needed and complete the lifecycle of NCR.
  • Support product testing and offshore field operations of equipment as needed.
  • Effectively work and complete assignments in group settings. Works cooperatively with others to achieve common goals.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related engineering discipline).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of industry related experience Offshore Energy or Manufacturing.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience working with basic Engineering Fundamentals, including pressure vessel design and stress calculations.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience performing material selection for subsea equipment.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience checking and reviewing machine, weldment and assembly drawings.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience with 2D or 3D Commercial CAD software.

DESIRED:

  • Working knowledge of Solidworks, Mathcad and Enovia or similar Product Life Management (PLM) system.
  • Experience to interpret the FEA analysis and determine the design change as required.
  • Prior experience working with industry standards (API, DNV, ASTM, ASME).
  • Prior knowledge on pipeline connection and repair or ROV tooling.
  • Prior knowledge on subsea control system.

  • Ability to work in a team environment, remaining attentive to ideas, recognizing responsibilities, and actively participating with others to accomplish assignments and achieve desired goals.

Additional Information

This position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office. Hybrid work schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business need.
