Summary: The Allocation Specialist is responsible for timely, accurate allocation of all customer orders to meet company service, accuracy, and productivity standards. This role ensures that orders are properly released, picked, replenished, and processed on schedule. The Allocation Specialist works independently and serves as a key operational resource, providing directions to warehouse personnel regarding replenishments, relocations, and inventory needs to support efficient order fulfillment.

What you will be doing:

Order Allocation & Processing:

*Allocate all customer orders accurately and on time to ensure efficient warehouse workflow.

*Monitor order statuses throughout the shift and adjust allocations as needed to maintain service-level commitments.

*Verify that orders are properly released for picking and escalate issues that may delay outbound shipments.

*Work closely with warehouse leads and supervisors to ensure all allocated orders are picked, processed, and shipped correctly.

*Other duties may be assigned.

Inventory Coordination:

*Identify inventory shortages, discrepancies, or slotting issues and direct warehouse personnel to replenish or relocate product as needed.

*Ensure product rotation aligns with customer requirements and inventory accuracy standards.

*Assist with physical inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.

Warehouse Operations Support:

*Provide guidance to staff working in picking, replenishment, receiving, and put-away to ensure allocation-driven priorities are met.

*Monitor workflow in real time and communicate operational needs clearly and professionally.

*Support the processing of labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, or repacking tasks when necessary.

Systems & Documentation:

*Utilize JDA and other inventory systems to allocate orders, review item availability, and troubleshoot issues.

*Complete required reports and logs accurately and in a timely manner.

*Review driver paperwork, order details, and inventory data to ensure accuracy and prevent shipment delays.

Safety, Sanitation, Security:

*Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

*Conduct activities in accordance with company safety policies and applicable regulations.

*Assist in maintaining warehouse security and reporting safety hazards or procedural gaps.

Allocation Specialist Responsibilities:

*Oversee the daily allocation of all orders to ensure timely and accurate processing.

*Serve as the primary point of contact for allocation-related issues between warehouse personnel, supervisors, and customer service teams.

*Direct individuals to complete replenishments, relocations, and inventory corrections based on operational needs.

*Identify workflow delays and recommend solutions to increase efficiency and accuracy.

*Provide professional communication with warehouse management, customers, vendors, and internal teams.

*In the absence of warehouse supervision, provide leadership to ensure smooth warehouse operations.

*Participate in the training of warehouse personnel on order flow, allocation processes, and system functionality.

What you need:

Education: High School Diploma (preferred).

Experience: One to three years of related warehouse, inventory, or order management experience preferred.

Knowledge / Experience / Skills:

*Strong communication and people-handling skills.

*Ability to accurately read, count, analyze item availability, and perform basic math.

*Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer use.

*Ability to effectively direct others in completing time-sensitive replenishment or relocation tasks.

*Ability to follow directions, work independently, and make informed decisions under pressure.

*Forklift certification is beneficial but not required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

* Ability to stand, sit, bend, twist, and walk for up to 12-hour periods.

* Ability to navigate narrow or confined spaces.

* Work on or near uneven, sloping, or slippery surfaces.

* Exposure to varying temperatures, including heat, cold, damp, or drafty environments.

* Potential exposure to high noise levels requiring hearing protection.

* Use of hands and fingers to grasp and manipulate objects of various sizes.

* Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 pounds.
