HDR is looking for a Resident Inspector to partner with our Construction Management team on the delivery of a major treatment plant construction project in metro Atlanta. In the role of Resident Inspector, we'll count on you to:
- Assist the Construction Manager with all facets of project execution
- Observe field activities for general conformance to the contract documents
- Proactively partner with the General Contractor and Construction Management team to coordinate field issues
- Demonstrate familiarity with a broad spectrum of construction materials, methods and processes for buildings and facilities
- Conduct inspection of electrical, structural, mechanical/HVAC, I&C, and site civil construction activities
- Collaborate with other field representatives
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents
- Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses
- Review submittals for conformance with technical specifications
- Participate in required construction meetings
- Actively participate in the start-up and troubleshooting of new facilities
- Develop relationships with client personnel to further HDR's objectives of maintaining outstanding client service
- Coordinate with design team members in HDR offices to obtain input to support on-going construction activities
- Perform other construction management as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical school or college degree
- Relevant Industry Certifications
- Ability to interpret construction schedules
- At least two years of construction experience in the water/wastewater field
- Knowledge of CAD software programs, scheduling software, and project management software (Newforma)
- Local candidates preferred
Required Qualifications
- Requires high school diploma or equivalent. (Candidates with 8 years of relevant construction inspection experience may substitute experience for a high school diploma)
- A minimum of 3 years experience
- Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)
- Proven problem-solving and documentation abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
