Position Summary

The UNM-Valencia Campus Upward Bound
Program is seeking an Administrative Assistant 1 or 2 who will
serve as the main contact for this college preparatory program which provides
personal, academic, and career counseling for high school students. This is a grant-funded position with current funding available through
08/31/2026.

This individual will be the main
contact for departmental support, coordinating the departmental functions and
inquiries, maintaining a variety of files and records, reconciling fiscal
administration for the unit, including, but not limited to monthly budget ,
time sheet collection, travel, and/or purchasing for the department. The
individual will maintain inventories for department assets and product
inventories associated with internal services. The Admin Assistant creates,
composes, and edits written materials and ensures coverage in the office.

Applicants will be considered for both the Administrative Assistant 1 and 2 position. Determination of
level placement for the successful candidate will be based on the years of
related experience and relevant information obtained throughout the recruitment
process.

Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia County, The
University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of The
University of New Mexico which functions as a community college in the region
and is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution. With an emphasis on teaching
excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs, technical
programs, Adult Education, and Dual Credit courses to high schools in Valencia
and Socorro Counties. The faculty and staff serve a student body of over

  • Experience with Chromeriver or similar purchasing/expenditure
    software
  • Experience working with youth or youth programming
