  • UT Health Tyler, the flagship hospital of the system, has 502 licensed beds specializing in advanced acute care medicine. Our hospital includes a 24-hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Respiratory Care Supervisor and according to specific instructions and established departmental policies and procedures, provides patient care to those suffering from acute and chronic respiratory problems. Job duties and responsibilities are related to General Therapy, Critical Care, Education, Processing Control, Pulmonary Services Research, and Leadership.


Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Graduate from COARC accredited respiratory care program.
  • Licensed practitioner by the State of Texas Medical Board.
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist with the National Board for Respiratory Care.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months of hire.
