The Department of Agricultural and Human Sciences' Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (
EFNEP) is seeking an experienced accounting professional familiar with
EFNEP policies and procedures, as well as college or university financial and accounting systems. This role involves overseeing daily financial operations, ensuring strict compliance with
USDA
NIFA and NC State University policies. Reporting directly to the
EFNEP coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the program's financial integrity through precise accounting, diligent monitoring, and comprehensive reporting of program funds.
Duties Include:
- Monitor and reconcile EFNEP accounts to ensure compliance with federal and university policies
- Prepare and maintain financial reports to support budget management and program accountability
- Process budget transactions, journal vouchers, and reimbursements while ensuring data accuracy
- Support EFNEP leadership with financial analysis and reporting needs
- Recommend and help implement improvements to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency
- Monitor program spreadsheets

| Minimum Experience/Education |
- High school diploma or equivalency and three years of experience in accounting work. Associate's degree in business administration or accounting

- Proven knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including financial reporting, budgeting, and reconciliation in a large, complex organization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret fiscal regulations and resolve financial discrepancies
- Proficiency with financial and spreadsheet tools such as Excel or Google Sheets
- Ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail

- Fluent in Spanish, both spoken and written
- Strong preference for candidates with knowledge of EFNEP's Web-based Nutrition Education Evaluation and Reporting System (WebNEERS), WolfPack Reporting Systems (WRS), and NCSU Financial systems
- Working knowledge of EFNEP's recordkeeping and reporting procedures, college/university finance and accounting systems, and routine accounting tasks
- Experience implementing changes to accounting systems and procedures to enhance accuracy and compliance
