About The Role

Position Purpose

The Credit Analyst I position is responsible for assisting commercial lenders throughout the division with all aspects of the commercial lending process. Responsible for providing competent credit analysis for commercial lending activities, including spreading financials, completing financial charts, preparing credit memos to underwrite loan requests, assisting with portfolio management, and helping with special projects and assignments while adhering to and exemplifying our Core Values: Embrace Responsibility, Execute with Excellence, Pursue Growth & Learning, Thrive Together.

Must be available from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.

The entry rate for this position is $24.32+ /hour (calculated for Shridan, WY).All compensation offers are analyzed individually and take into consideration multiple factors including but not limited to geographic location, years of experience, and educational background.

Essential Functions

  • Underwrite new and renewing commercial loan requests, including but not limited to: real estate, construction, commercial and industrial, and SBA 7A/SBA 504/USDA loans.
  • Assist in the completion of credit memos through nCino in compliance with GBCI loan policy, procedures, and regulations.
  • Understand various types and qualities of financial statements.
  • Accurately spread and analyze financial statements and/or tax returns, and complete all required financial charts.
  • Review loan packages for proper structure, accurate financial analysis, adequate collateral, appropriate risk rating, covenants, and approval conditions.
  • Participate in loan committee meetings and discussions.
  • Support loan officers with closings, portfolio management, annual loan reviews, and problem loan reporting.
  • Assist with covenant monitoring, tracking, and construction loan management through the Built system.
  • Work effectively with third-party vendors such as accountants, bookkeepers, and title companies.
  • Obtain credentials and training necessary to complete appraisal reviews for the division.
  • Ensure all assigned training courses are completed within required timeframes. Seek clarification from supervisors as needed to ensure understanding of training content.
  • Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

About You

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • 0-2 years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience required
  • Associate's Degree in business, finance, accounting, or economics or higher is required.
    • Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, accounting, or economics highly preferred.
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.

Working conditions: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level.

Travel: Occasional travel required: (less than 10 days per year) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities.

Mental Requirements: Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Starting salary is dependent upon relevant experience and may vary based on the geographic location of the position.
