Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled professional who excels in managing import shipments, ensuring that all processes are handled efficiently and in compliance with relevant laws. The successful candidate would preferably have a CHB (Customs House Broker) license, or alternatively a long-demonstrated history of expertise in customs regulations and procedures, and broad industry knowledge.

This position will be either a remote or hybrid role based on the selected candidate's geographic location. Preference will be given to applicants who live within a commutable distance of Bridgewater, New Jersey/Tri-State area, Chicago, Illinois, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and/or within the Long Island, New York areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage import bookings with freight forwarders
  • Ensure export/import compliance with all regulations; train colleagues as needed
  • Maintain import tracking reports and entry files for compliance
  • Communicate requirements and provide documentation to new foreign suppliers
  • Collect entry documents and broker instructions
  • Monitor entries via ACE (Automated Commercial Environment) and brokers
  • Verify accurate import/export classifications and valuations
  • Track compliance performance; implement corrective actions
  • Manage special projects (e.g., Duty Drawback Program, CTPAT)
  • Stay current on international trade regulations and ensure company compliance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, International Trade, or related field
  • 5+ years in international transportation and trade compliance
  • Expert knowledge of HTS classification and import regulations
  • Experience with FDA and other government agencies compliance requirements
  • Expertise in import CHB procedures and regulations
  • CHB License and Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) certification, strongly preferred
  • Experience in multinational environments
  • Proficiency with trade compliance software and tools

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment

The approximate pay range for this position is $75,000- $85,000 base. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
