The Director of Human Resources Operations is a strategic and operational leader responsible for overseeing the core HR processes that support the employee lifecycle. This role ensures the efficient delivery of HR services, compliance with employment laws, and alignment of HR operations with organizational goals. This role oversees HR systems, processes, and programs including compensation, benefits, payroll, and HRIS. The ideal candidate is a process-driven leader with a passion for optimizing systems, enhancing employee experience, and driving HR excellence.

Position: Director of Human Resources Operations

Salary: $120,000 - $160,000 annually, depending on experience

Service Area: Lifespark Corporation Office, St. Louis Park 55416

Schedule: Full - Time, 1.0 FTE / Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Position Functions & Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership



  • Develop and execute HR operational strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across HR processes and systems.
  • Partner with senior leadership to support organizational change and workforce planning.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and Employee Engagement teams to deliver an integrated HR experience.


HR Operations Management



  • Oversee HRIS administration, data integrity, and reporting.
  • Lead compensation and benefits administration (total rewards), payroll coordination, and leave management
  • Oversee the entire end-to-end payroll process ensuring compliance with employment laws and maintaining accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Manage employee onboarding, offboarding, and lifecycle processes from a systems perspective.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs that ensure HR practices are consistent, scalable, and compliant with federal, state, and local regulations.


Team Leadership



  • Supervise and mentor HR operations staff, fostering a high-performance, employee-focused culture.
  • Build cross-functional relationships with Finance, IT, Legal, and other departments.
  • Promote a service-oriented approach to HR support and partnership across the organization.


Analytics & Reporting



  • Develop and maintain HR dashboards and metrics to inform decision-making.
  • Analyze trends in turnover, engagement, and workforce demographics.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve HR effectiveness.
  • Integrate data analytics into HR processes.



Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field (master's preferred).
  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing HR operations in a mid-to-large organization.
  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent HR certification (preferred)
  • Healthcare or senior living experience preferred


Knowledge, Skills & Key Competencies:



  • Strong knowledge of HRIS platforms (e.g., UKG, WFM, etc.).
  • Expertise in employment law, compliance, and HR best practices.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead change and influence stakeholders at all levels
