THE ROLE

AMD is currently seeking a senior finance professional and data leader to help us transform into a more data-driven organization and a leader in AI adoption for finance. This role requires a strong background in finance, deep data analysis skills (including SQL, Python, R, etc.), expertise in corporate finance systems, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for senior leadership. You will be a key driving force for our Finance Data Portal initiative which aims to centralize trusted data in a single source of truth for use in analysis, decision support, and AI-driven solutions.

THE PERSON

This will be a high-impact and high-visibility role within our CFO organization. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with the ability to effectively communicate with teams around the world and at all levels, from analyst to executives. You will have a passion for data as well as a strong desire to show how quality data and AI solutions can drive our organization to the next level.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Data Champion: foster a data-driven culture through trusted data sources, analytics, insights, and AI-based recommendations to support business decisions.
  • Data Analysis & Modeling: Analyze large financial datasets using advanced tools to develop predictive AI models.
  • Process Automation: Implement AI and automation solutions to streamline recurring financial tasks and improve reporting efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, engineers, and other departments (like HR and Sales) to integrate AI solutions into business operations.
  • Strategic Insights: Provide data-driven insights to senior leadership and contribute to strategic financial decision-making.
  • Risk Management: Use AI and data to support investment decisions and enhance risk management processes.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Data: Demonstrated expertise in delivering cloud-based data solutions and expertise in data architecture, compliance, security, and governance.
  • Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability in financial modeling, data interpretation, and problem-solving.
  • Leadership: Experience leading teams and driving large and complex projects.
  • BI & Reporting: Experience with BI/reporting tools and a strong enthusiasm for technology and artificial intelligence tools.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and executive presence to articulate financial data and insights to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in tools such as Snowflake, PowerBI and Alation; experience with ERP and boundary systems (e.g., SAP, Blackline).
  • Industry Experience: Experience in high-growth, tech-enabled, or SaaS environments is preferred

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS

Bachelor's degree (or higher) in finance, accounting, information systems, or a related quantitative discipline, plus an MBA or equivalent experience is preferred.
