Responsibilities

Arcfield is expanding its Cyber initiative and seeking a Cyber Systems Engineer, IV in support of Data Science to help apply data science techniques to cybersecurity solutions. The ideal candidate will be able to provide data management and analysis to assist in recommending changes to the Government that can improve operational effectiveness and support decision making. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to help shape Arcfield's cyber defense strategies and contribute to our expanding portfolio of cyber programs. Note: An offer for this position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Extract, transform, load, analyze, and interpret relevant information assurance (IA) data
  • Provide reports on patterns, anomalies, and potential security concerns
  • Support machine learning and statistical approaches for cybersecurity
  • Create data visualizations, dashboards, and presentations to communicate cybersecurity recommendations
  • Conduct and support data engineering and data management tasks
  • Select and implement appropriate analytical approaches for automation
  • Review and define requirements for data science cybersecurity approaches
  • Utilize tools such as AWS, Spark, Kafka, Tableau, Python (TensorFlow, PyTorch), R (tidyverse, RShiny), and Splunk
  • Provide Agile process support with projects management (Scrum, Jira, Confluence)
  • Analyze historical data to gain insights and understand patterns in cybersecurity contexts
  • Conduct predictive analytics to forecast future outcomes and recommend optimal actions
  • Integrate analytic findings into other cybersecurity products and processes, including Continuous Monitoring
  • Research emerging data science methodologies and technologies for cybersecurity applications
  • Assist in creating, editing, and managing data sources and ensuring data accuracy
  • Archive information within data sources
  • Establish frameworks for measuring and quantifying cyber risk
  • Maintain security compliance with standards, policies, and procedures
  • Support incident response analyses
  • Support cybersecurity training program
  • Support the integration of DoD IA architectures and systems
  • Work with large language models (LLMs) and apply machine learning principles, techniques, and technologies
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to receive feedback and guide future work
  • Present information and recommendations to decision-makers and warfighters

Qualifications

Required

  • Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance with Poly
  • BS 8-10, MS 6-8, PhD 3-5
  • 5 years' relevant experience in data science, mathematics, statistics, business analytics or equivalent quantitative field
  • Working knowledge of data visualizations, large language models (LLMs), and machine learning principles, techniques, and technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to review and refine requirements for data science cybersecurity approaches
  • Understanding of machine learning principles, techniques, and technologies
  • Knowledge of data engineering
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data management
  • Familiar with Agile processes (Scrum, Jira, Confluence)
  • Working knowledge of data visualizations, large language models (LLMs), and machine learning principles, techniques, and technologies
  • Experience with tools such as AWS, Spark, Kafka, Tableau, Python (e.g., TensorFlow and PyTorch), R (e.g., tidyverse, RShiny), Splunk, or equivalent
  • Familiar with statistical methods, predictive modeling, machine learning, deep learning, data visualizations, and data management
  • Ability to interact regularly with customers and present information to decision-makers

Desired

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in data science, mathematics, statistics, business analytics, or equivalent quantitative field
  • A STEM degree in data science, mathematics, statistics, business analytics, or equivalent quantitative field
  • Exposure to cybersecurity applications and/or operations
  • Familiarity with Agile project management processes (i.e., Scrum, Jira, Confluence) or equivalent
  • Experience in automating manual processes, predicting future trends, and detecting anomalies
  • Knowledge of information assurance (IA) and cybersecurity principles
  • Experience with DoD IA systems
  • Familiarity with continuous monitoring and ongoing authorization programs
  • Experience in conducting vulnerability analyses and risk assessments
  • Knowledge of intrusion detection methodologies and equipment
  • Experience in incident response analysis
  • Ability to develop and conduct cybersecurity training programs
