POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Network Administrator supports the planning, installation, configuration, and maintenance of the company's network infrastructure, ensuring stable connectivity across office and jobsite locations. This role assists in troubleshooting network issues, monitoring system performance, managing user access, and maintaining network security standards. The Network Administrator works closely with the Senior Network Administrator and IT Manager to support McGough Enterprise's technology operations, ensuring reliable connectivity that supports field operations, project management software, and construction site communications.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:



  • Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Networking, or related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in IT support, network administration, or systems maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of LAN/WAN, VPNs, and wireless technologies.
  • Familiarity with network hardware such as switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and Office 365 administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.


Preferred:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG).
  • Prior experience supporting users in a construction or field-based environment.

OFFICE AND TRAVEL



  • Travel between different office locations and job sites for support and setup.
  • Outstate travel may be necessary to satellite office locations, job sites or technology conferences.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

Main Job Duties:



  • Assist in daily network administration including setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of routers, switches, access points, and firewalls.
  • Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity or latency issues.
  • Maintain user accounts, permissions, and security credentials.
  • Provide end-user technical support for hardware and software network issues.
  • Document network changes, configurations, and procedures.


Strategy Management:



  • Support IT leadership in planning and implementing infrastructure upgrades and expansion projects.
  • Participate in technology planning discussions to improve network reliability for field operations.


Policy Administration:



  • Help enforce cybersecurity protocols and network access controls.
  • Support compliance with company IT policies, standards, and data protection requirements.


Reporting & Analysis:



  • Generate reports on network uptime, performance metrics, and incident trends.
  • Assist in asset inventory management and lifecycle tracking for network devices.


Other Duties as assigned:



  • Provide support for special IT projects and new software rollouts.
  • Assist with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery testing.
  • Support IT helpdesk requests as needed.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. of computer or network equipment.
  • Ability to crawl under desks, access network closets, and occasionally climb ladders to install or inspect hardware.
  • Extended periods of sitting and computer use.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to construction or field offices.

Position involves sitting for extended periods of time at the employees' workstation and during meetings as well as while traveling, either by plane or car. Employee needs to be able to lift 20 pounds as frequently as needed to move objects; dexterity to write and manipulate computer keyboard and mouse; ability to hear and speak clearly; and ability to distinguish between colors on graphs and charts.

Occasionally, employee will be required to visit construction jobsites which may expose the employee to dirt, dust, uneven surfaces, outdoor weather conditions and extreme temperatures.

In alignment with our commitment to pay transparency, the base salary range for this position is $78,000 to $100,000, excluding fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you join McGough, your final base salary will be determined by several factors, including geography, location, skills, education, and experience. Furthermore, we place significant value on pay equity among our current team members as part of any final job offer.

Please note that the range provided above reflects the hiring range for this role. Hiring near the top end of this range would be atypical, as we aim to allow room for future salary growth. Additionally, McGough offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package. This includes insurance coverage for medical, dental, vision, life, and disability.
