Job Summary:
The Director of Service is a strategic and driven leader responsible for delivering measurable growth and sustained success across SCR's service operations. This role focuses on overseeing service operations, optimizing processes, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving financial accountability while aligning department performance with company objectives.
The Director will design and implement scalable service strategies, establish consistent processes and metrics, and ensure the team is equipped with the tools, training, and coaching needed for success. The Director will also oversee and mentor the Service Managers, providing leadership, accountability, and professional development to ensure alignment and execution of company service goals. This includes managing and monitoring budgets, expenditures, and P&L performance across all service operations, while driving accountability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction at every level.
This role will report directly to ownership and is responsible for creating measurable metrics and achieving defined operational and financial goals. The Director of Service will also play a critical role in fostering collaboration, working closely with multiple teams to align service delivery with customer needs and company objectives. A key part of the role is ensuring safety protocols are followed, optimizing service operations, and maintaining alignment with company priorities.
Partnering with ownership, operations, construction and installation, the Director of Service will align their efforts with overall company goals while upholding SCR's core values.

Responsibilities:
- Set the standard for safety excellence by leading your departments in consistent adherence to established protocols and fostering a proactive culture of safety.
- Collaborate with ownership to develop and implement budgets across all departments, ensuring financial accountability and alignment with organizational goals.
- Manage department budgets, expenditures, and P&L statements to ensure financial accountability, cost efficiency, and alignment with organizational goals.
- Partner with ownership to develop and implement the strategic plan for all service departments, aligning departmental goals with the company's long-term objectives.
- Oversee and provide leadership to managers, ensuring alignment with company objectives, consistent execution of processes, and development of team performance.
- Monitor and analyze department performance metrics to drive accountability and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Oversee operations across all service locations, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and alignment with company standards.
- Allocate resources effectively across all service departments to maximize productivity and support operational excellence.
- Oversee all the hiring and training processes across the departments you oversee, ensuring teams are fully staffed with qualified personnel and provided with the skills, knowledge, and support needed for success.
- Develop and implement standardized processes and procedures across all service departments to ensure efficiency, consistency, and alignment with company standards.
- Collaborate with all department heads to maintain alignment, consistency, and cross-functional integration across the company.
- Ensure all service operations comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Partner with the finance team to monitor department budgets, track expenditure, and ensure P&L accountability, supporting data-driven decision-making and financial performance.
- Oversee and drive the performance review process for all direct departments, ensuring consistent feedback, accountability, and professional growth.
- Ensure effective oversight of tools, parts, and material inventory, maintaining accuracy and availability to support efficient operations.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of progressive industry experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with a solid foundation in general computer skills and basic software applications.
- Experience with ERP or service management software.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC/R service operations, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience in overseeing budgets, P&L accountability, and performance metrics.
- Demonstrated success in developing and mentoring managers and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with ownership, clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Current valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while performing office work, attending meetings, or at customer sites.
- Required to climb ladders, stairs, and navigate work sites safely.
- Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods during site inspections.
- Comfortable with exposure to various customer environments, including noise, dust, and varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry materials or tools up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Frequent use of computers, phone, and other standard office equipment.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, on the phone, and in virtual meetings.
- Ability to travel between multiple sites as required.
- Must have the capacity to hear and communicate clearly in both office and noisy environments.
