Silver Mountain manages both task order IDIQ contracts as well as competitive bid and sole source projects, including 100% design, design-build, demolition, facilities repair, DOD fuels systems, and new construction. POSITION PURPOSE: Assists the Project Manager with the management, planning, and coordination activities of projects to ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed scopes, schedules, and budgets. The position is ideal for an individual with desire and ambition to grow with the company and become a Project Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create, update and maintain a variety of project controls that track the status of individual projects or task orders, changes to projects or task orders, RFIs, shop drawings, submittals, etc. throughout project lifecycle.
- Work with subject matter experts to create, review, and process shop drawings and other submittals that are required to document the construction process.
- Assist in establishing, monitoring, communicating, and maintaining project schedules utilizing scheduling software.
- Manage or support the management processes by updating logs, routing source documents to vendors, obtaining pricing, writing change orders, and other related activities.
- Support the process of negotiating contracts, subcontracts and purchase orders including tracking materials delivery status to ensure timely arrival.
- Proactively identify issues that could lead to problems and facilitate solutions.
- Assist in ensuring that all aspects of the project are compliant with all contract terms and legal requirements that govern the project and the community in which the project(s) takes place.
- Establish and maintain relationships with the project managers, clients, owner, designers, subcontractors, vendors, building officials, local businesses, and emergency support.
- Provide timely and cordial interaction with supporting work groups, such as accounting, logistics, and subcontracting.
- Participate in management activities that are related to project closeout to ensure timely completion.
- Assist in tracking and submitting construction billings and cost codes, including reviewing and coding invoices for payment.
- Assist in ensuring adherence to project budget and schedule.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in general construction.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, project schedules, and financial indicators.
- Ability to absorb large volumes of information.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, and make decisions, solve problems, exercise good judgment, work under pressure, and capable of prioritizing workload.
- Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
- Excellent interpersonal skills; work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management, staff, and clients, as well as outside business associates.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to effectively present information and respond effectively and sensitively to questions from clients, managers, staff and the general public.
- High degree of sensitivity and ability to maintain confidential client and employee information.
Special Requirements:
- Applicants are required to have REAL ID ACT compliant documentation at time of hire.
- Ability and willingness to travel and support a wide range of field efforts, when necessary.
- Ability complete and maintain current OSHA 30-hour and EM 385-1-1 courses.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Preferred knowledge and understanding of critical path method (CPM) scheduling, cash flow.
- Forecasting, and resource loading Primavera P6 schedules.
- DoD experience in general construction preferred
- BlueBeam experience is preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Sedentary physical workload; must be able to exert up to a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body; required to have a close visual acuity to perform activities such as viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading; specific physical requirements include, but are not limited to, sitting, walking, talking, hearing and performing repetitive motions.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Standard office and project site environment.
- Includes travel to project sites and satellite offices supporting multiple projects.
- Average work week will exceed 40 hours.
