Location: Voorhees - 100 Bowman DriveRemote Type: On-SiteEmployment Type: EmployeeEmployment Classification: Per DiemTime Type: Part timeWork Shift: Day Shift - 12 Hr (United States of America)Total Weekly Hours: 0Additional Locations: Job Information: Job Summary: The Infant Feeding Technician is responsible for the preparation and delivery of all infant feedings including formula and breast milk. Preparation techniques must adhere to all sanitary regulations and standards established by regulating agencies and the health care facility, which should include compliance with policies relate to the institution's plan of enteral feeding. Communicates with and supports healthcare team, patients and/or patient's family or significant other(s). Maintains and demonstrates high standards of professional ethics. Position Responsibilities: Prepares infant formula accurately according to established written formulations, following pre-established feeding preparation procedures and adhering to quality control standards. Uses a gram scale, measuring spoons, syringes and graduated cylinder to precisely measure and mix additive ingredients. Calculates new formulations or standardized recipes manually. Performs identification of breast milk/formula containers using bar code scanning, thawing, fortifying and labeling 24-hour supply of feeds for each infant according to written policy and procedures Accesses Virtua computer systems to receive, prepare, and respond to routine electronic correspondence. Communicates with patient's registered dietitian, nurse, physician, or unit manager regarding problems with feeding orders, formula storage, or administration. Verifies new or questionable infant feeding orders with a registered dietitian and/or Medical Provider for accuracy and obtains standardized recipes as needed. Prepares storeroom or purchasing requisition for all infant formula, glassware, bottles, enteral feeding bags, nipples, and other supplies, as needed, to maintain adequate supply levels Cleans and sanitizes work surfaces and equipment prior to breast milk/formula preparation, and in between each individual patient formula preparation, according to established sanitation procedures. Follows aseptic techniques. Follows department and infection control policies regarding feeding handling. Position Qualifications Required: Required Experience: Demonstrates required knowledge of basic milk preparation skills, procedures and standards. Work requires regularly proofreading and checking documents for accuracy. Must have strong communication skills. Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Enrolled for 2 years in a nutrition and/or health science focused college program. Training / Certification / Licensure: Enhances skills through on-going education and training. Maintains regulatory and departmental level competencies. Hourly Rate: $18.88 - $28.29 The actual salary/rate will vary based on applicant's experience as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
