Job Title: Patient Service Representative

MaineHealth Obstetrics and Gynecology - Norway | MaineHealth

Location: Ripley Building, 3rd Floor - 193 Main Street, Norway, ME

Schedule: Three 8-hour days (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday) + Pediatric weekend rotation (1:6)

Position Summary:
MaineHealth is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Patient Service Representative (PSR) to join our OB/GYN team in Norway, Maine. In this patient-facing role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and families, providing exceptional customer service and supporting the daily operations of our busy clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and check in patients, ensuring accurate demographic and insurance information.
  • Schedule appointments, manage phone calls, and support coordination of patient flow.
  • Collect co-pays and handle basic billing inquiries.
  • Maintain a welcoming, organized front desk environment.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to support high-quality patient care.
  • Uphold MaineHealth values while serving as a reliable and professional representative of the practice.

Schedule & Work Expectations:

  • Core Schedule: Three (3) eight-hour days - Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
  • Weekend Rotation: Participation in the Pediatric weekend rotation, working one weekend day every six weeks from 8:00 AM-12:00 PM.
  • Consistency: This is a consistent schedule aside from the weekend rotation.
  • Flexibility: Candidates must be willing to work additional hours as needed to support practice needs.
  • On-site Only: Because this role is fully patient-facing, remote work is not available.

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong communication and customer-service skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous medical office or front-desk experience preferred
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  1. Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: N/A
  3. Experience: Previous office experience with medical office experience preferred.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: N/A
  5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Proficient computer skills.
