POSITION SPECIFICS

The Pennsylvania State University, Center for Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), University Park, PA has a Psychologist (Intermediate level)position starting August 10, 2026. This is a generalist position.

Duties include individual and group psychotherapy, phone triage, initial consultations, outreach and consultation, as well as urgent consultation/triage/assessment/follow-up and stabilization. These positions are intended to focus on accruing supervised clinical hours for licensure as a psychologist, as well as obtaining advanced generalist training and accruing knowledge and experience in a specialty area. Candidates should have the ability to provide services to a wide range of students. All clinicians on our staff perform their duties while adhering to and promoting trauma-informed care and healing-centered approaches and principles, in alignment with the establishment of the Commonwealth of PA as a trauma-informed, healing centered state.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Doctor of Philosophy (PHD) or Doctor of Psychology (PSYD) 1+ years of relevant experience Required Certifications: None

A Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology and a one-year, full-time doctoral internship in health service psychology are required. APA accredited training/internship is required. Counseling center experience is preferred.

Additional Information:

In addition to the online application process, candidates should also upload 3 letters of reference and transcripts of graduate work. At least two letters should be from supervisors familiar with the applicant's most recent clinical work. At least one letter of reference should be from someone in the applicant's doctoral program.

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $51,000.00 - $74,000.00.
