Overview

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit's Commercial Business Units ("Spirit Commercial"). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.


Responsibilities

Location: Wichita, KS

Level A

  • Possess the skills/knowledge to perform in one or more of the following classifications: Fabrication/Assembly Inspector Machine/Tooling Inspector.
  • Possess the skills, knowledge and education to perform non-destructive inspection with hand-help equipment.
  • Possess the skills, knowledge and education to operate Multi-Axis automated ultrasonic systems.
  • Possess the skills, knowledge and education to perform non-destructive inspection in a repair station environment.
  • Teach/program multi axis non-destructive test machines that perform complex motions.
  • Ability to investigate and document Root Cause analysis and Corrective action (non-disciplinary).
  • Perform process and hardware audits and surveillance.
  • Perform all functions associated with Level B requirements.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be willing and able to work any shift.
  • Associates degree in NDT or Certificate(s) of completion or will also consider NDI trade school completion. Must provide diploma/certificates, official transcripts, etc.
  • All Candidates must pass the WorkKeys Assessment (workkeys.com) or provide verification that they have passed the WorkKeys Assessment. Delay in completing your WorkKeys Assessment will result in a delay in your start date. You may complete your assessment in advance of an interview.
    • IMPORTANT WorkKeys note: Any person scheduling their WorkKeys Assessment will be required to present two (2) forms of identification to be verified before their scheduled date for the WorkKeys assessment. Please click and review this provided link Acceptable Forms of ID and plan ahead by deciding which documents can be located or if need be, ordered.

Preferred

  • Certified Level 2 Ultrasonic.

Union:

This is a union-represented position.

Pay: $20.50/hour, with potential to earn up to $45.04/hour in accordance with the terms of the relevant collective bargaining agreement.
