About the Role

We are seeking a Packaging Operator to join our team at our Cayce, SC bakery. As a Packaging Operator, you will be accountable for ensuring packaging processes meet quality, safety, and production standards. You will support daily packaging operations by maintaining equipment accuracy, verifying packaging integrity, and ensuring a clean and compliant work environment.

Shift & Schedule

• Shift: 1st
• Hours: 2:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
• Weekend Availability: Required

Core Accountabilities (What You'll Be Doing)

• Ensure daily packaging, bagging, and caseforming operations meet production schedules and quality specifications
• Maintain and adjust packaging equipment, including bag inserters and case erectors, to ensure proper function and measurement accuracy
• Perform required verifications, including bag seal checks and box strength inspections, to maintain product integrity
• Ensure adequate inventory of packaging materials and communicate needs promptly
• Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel
• Maintain a safe, sanitary, and wellorganized work area, promptly reporting potential contamination or suspicious activity
• Support continuous improvement by following established procedures and performing additional duties as needed

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

• High school diploma or GED
• Manufacturing experience and/or equivalent training
• Ability to read and interpret production schedules, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to complete routine reports and maintain accurate documentation
• Basic Microsoft Excel skills and ability to learn new software
• Ability to work in a fastpaced environment with frequent changes
• Ability to meet physical requirements (lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing stairs, bending, standing for long periods)

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

• Experience in bakery or food manufacturing environments
• Strong equipment troubleshooting skills
• Effective communication skills, including clear verbal communication and participation in team discussions
