What this job involves: This position performs and assists in all maintenance departmental service requests while ensuring work is completed efficiently with minimal disruption to building operations. The role supports the implementation of preventative maintenance programs under the guidance of the Assistant Chief Engineer and Chief Engineer. The engineer is responsible for troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, maintaining inventory, providing staff training, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols while maintaining a clean and safe workplace environment.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

* Perform and assist in maintenance departmental service requests with minimal disruption and inconvenience

* Check malfunctioning equipment and determine corrective action to restore satisfactory operating condition

* Complete preventative maintenance tasks with minimum disruption of building services

* Order parts and equipment required for repair, maintenance and installation of new equipment and facilities

* Comply with departmental policy for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials

* Provide training and supervision to operations staff on proper use of tools and maintenance procedures

* Coordinate purchase order requests and develop sources for stock materials

* Perform periodic checks for supplies and maintain adequate operating inventory

* Complete any additional duties and tasks as assigned

Desired experience and technical skills:

Requirements:

* Ability to troubleshoot and repair building equipment and systems

* Knowledge of preventative maintenance procedures and protocols

* Understanding of hazardous materials handling and disposal procedures

* Ability to train and supervise operations staff

* Skills in inventory management and procurement processes

* Capability to work efficiently with minimal disruption to building operations

Preferred:

* Previous experience in building maintenance or facilities management

* Technical training or certification in relevant maintenance disciplines

* Experience with maintenance management systems and procedures

Location: On-site, Charlotte, NC

Shift/Schedule: 1st Shift/ Morning

Salary: $52,300 - $91,700 / year

The salary listed is an estimate and not guaranteed. A salary offer will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data
