| Position Highlights |
The Department of Systems and Industrial Engineering in the College of Engineering at the University of Arizona is seeking a candidate for a career-track faculty position at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Practice (open Rank) to lead engineering programs in Yuma, AZ. We seek a candidate who can lead engineering degree programs (Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Software Engineering), including teaching undergraduate courses as well as providing advising on academic and career development. The program places a high value on collaboration with community stakeholders, industry partners, and community colleges in the Yuma region. We seek an individual who brings energy, leadership, and a deep commitment to academic excellence. The desired teaching areas include but are not limited to: foundations in systems & industrial engineering; embedded computer systems; engineering design. The Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Practice will contribute to growing and sustaining the partnerships and engineering degree programs in Yuma, AZ. This career-track appointment is not eligible for tenure. | Duties & Responsibilities |
- Maintain a workload typical for a career track faculty within the College of Engineering defined as 80% related to teaching and 20% related to service.
- Oversee undergraduate advising for engineering students in Yuma.
- Collect, report, and analyze assessment data (e.g., ABET) and pursue program improvements.
- Contribute to the growth of engineering degree programs in Yuma through appropriate outreach to local communities including government units, businesses, nonprofit organizations, partnering community colleges, and area residents.
- Assist in the development of innovative approaches to enhancing student engagement and expanding collaborations with community and business partners.
- Service on committees at the department, college, and/or university level.
- Other duties may be assigned.

| Minimum Qualifications |
- An M.S. or B.S. degree in Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management, or a closely related field.
- A background of at least a nominal amount of teaching experience.
- Three or more years of relevant work experience (e.g. in private sector) in engineering or a related field OR Any equivalent combination of teaching experience, and/or practical experience that will bring value to the students' learning experience as determined by the faculty members on the search committee at the time of hire; OR professional certifications and achievement in engineering, or a related field, directly relevant to the subjects taught.
