The Strategic Planning Team is seeking a highly motivated engineer to join team. This role will work closely with executive leadership to support company-wide planning initiatives, analyze technical and economic data, and provide insights to guide corporate strategy. The position will operate as a strategic partner within the organization, independently driving the development and optimization of integrated plans and schedules that align with corporate objectives and Project Management Office standards. This role leverages advanced expertise in engineering, planning, project management, budgeting, process improvement, upstream E&P operations, and corporate reporting to support enterprise-wide initiatives and influence key business decisions. Responsibilities include proactively managing risk, advise plan adjustments, and review strategic investments for investment to ensure alignment with strategic objectives. The Senior Staff Planning Engineer fosters cross-functional collaboration, champions continuous improvement, and delivers complex planning solutions that support long-term business strategy.
  • Collaborate with executives and cross-functional teams to develop and evaluate opportunities and plans.
  • Analyze operational, technical, and market data to support decision-making.
  • Prepare presentations, reports, and recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Support scenario planning, risk analysis, and forecasting activities.
  • Reviews and advises the metrics delivered of integrated plans and schedules, ensuring alignment with team objectives and corporate objectives.
  • Develops and maintains planning, project management, budgeting, and upstream E&P Operations competency.
  • Leverages internal and industry data to support corporate long range plans and capability
  • Identifies needs and gaps withing the asset portfolio and advises on opportunities to address issues
  • Manages effective risk, issue, and change management processes, proactively communicating and escalating potential impacts on business objectives
  • Develops robust financial models encompassing cash flow analysis, investment return metrics, net present value (NPV), CAGR, and NAV driving insightful capital allocation and investment decisions.
  • Engages in continuous learning through workshops, publications, and networking to increase professional and technical knowledge.
  • Engages in cross-functional alignment, ensuring synergy and seamless collaboration between subsurface, operations, financial, and planning functions.
  • Carries out complex planning projects independently with high attention to details, leads change efforts, and actively participates in continuous improvement initiatives, demonstrating skill in mentoring and influencing.
  • Establishes effective relationships, achieves strategic results using business acumen, and actively remediates data quality issues, optimizing problem-solving through multi-discipline knowledge.
  • Identifies, diagnoses, and recommends solutions to complex planning problems, coordinates assignments across functional areas, and demonstrates functional expertise, contributing to company goals and decision-making.
Education:Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering or any other related engineering discipline and/or commensurate work experience is required. Experience:* 7+ years of relevant experience, preferably in areas such as Business Planning, Performance Analysis and Forecasting, Economic Evaluations, Project Planning and Execution or a related field. Industry experience is preferred.
