Software Product Owner - Hybrid Work Available

We are seeking an enthusiastic and results-driven Software Product Owner to play a pivotal role in our Agile development team. As a key collaborator with the Product Manager, you will lead the execution of our product roadmap and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality features and enhancements. Working closely with designers, developers, and other stakeholders, you will translate strategic objectives into actionable tasks and drive iterative development to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Product Execution: Collaborate with the Product Manager to execute the product roadmap, ensuring that features are developed according to the defined strategy and priorities.
  • Backlog Management: Maintain and prioritize the product backlog, translating high-level requirements into detailed user stories and feature specifications. Regularly update priorities based on feedback and changing market dynamics.
  • Agile Facilitation: Lead agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives. Work closely with development teams to plan and execute iterative development cycles.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define feature requirements and ensure alignment with the product vision.
  • User-Centric Approach: Advocate for user needs and ensure that features are designed and developed to deliver meaningful value and enhance user satisfaction.
  • Communication Hub: Effectively communicate product updates, priorities, and changes to internal teams, stakeholders, and leadership. Address questions and provide clarification on product-related matters.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with testing and deployment teams to ensure that features are thoroughly tested and meet quality standards before release.
  • Performance Metrics: Collaborate with the Product Manager to define and track key performance indicators (KPIs). Analyze data and user feedback to make informed decisions for product enhancements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in retrospectives and encourage a culture of continuous improvement within the team. Identify areas for optimization and propose process enhancements.

Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of related experience

Knowledge & Experience

  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and experience working in cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced in Business Process Modeling and Notation (BPMN)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience using data analysis techniques to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities

Qualifications & Characteristics

  • Serve as a resource for large, cross-functional initiatives as needed to provide process improvement subject matter expertise
  • Assist in the rollout of BPM technology to improve the efficiency and visibility of key business processes
  • Demonstrated success in leading process improvement initiatives/projects within a service organization
  • Strong organizational, team building, and people skills. The ability to work and navigate within a complex organization

Work Environment

  • Hybrid work environment once training is completed, 40+ hours per week - 3 days working out of the Gainesville, GA office and 2 days remote
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components
