Creighton University in Omaha, NE is seeking to hire a Front Desk Receptionist to work in Deglman Residence Hall working overnight hours (11p-7a). This critical role serves as a layer of safety and security to the students and helps as a resource for residents. Provide a high level of care to others through personal interactions, promoting an inclusive and welcoming environment for all residents and guests. Assist residents and guests with equipment checkout and maintenance requests. As representatives of the Division of Student Life, the Department of Public Safety, and the greater Creighton University community, they embody our Catholic, Jesuit mission and our obligation to be people for, and with, others. This is a non-benefit, 9 or 12-month position that will include working holidays. Position Responsibilities Promote a safe, respectful, and welcoming community in a Catholic, Jesuit liberal arts setting. Monitor access to residence halls, verify residents and guests, and deny entry to unauthorized individuals. Assist with bag checks and enforce policies on alcohol, drugs, tobacco, and other prohibited items. Report and escalate safety, security, and medical concerns to on-duty staff. Use video surveillance to identify unauthorized exits or safety issues. Follow fire and weather emergency procedures and assist first responders with required information. Maintain confidentiality and stay alert to all radio/phone communications. Customer Service: Provide respectful, timely support to residents and guests. Greet and assist all who enter or exit the building, in person and via phone. Protect student privacy and uphold FERPA guidelines. Administration & Personal Responsibility: Accurately manage guest check-ins/outs, equipment usage, logs, maintenance requests, and reports.
