Position Summary
The Harvey Kapnick Center for Business Institutions in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences at Northwestern University invites applications for a full-time continuing non-tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor of Instruction beginning September 1, 2026.

Duties and Responsibilities
The position requires teaching six sections per year of an introductory financial and managerial accounting course (two sections per quarter over a three-quarter academic year), undergraduate advising and departmental service. The introductory accounting course is a required course for all students enrolled in the Business Institutions Minor offered by the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences and is also open to other Northwestern undergraduates. Qualifications
A graduate degree in a related field is required. Preferred qualifications include a PhD or DBA in a related field, CPA certification, relevant work experience as a professional accountant and relevant teaching experience.

Rank of Appointment
A PhD is required for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor of Instruction. Candidates without a PhD would be appointed at the rank of Lecturer.

Salary

The expected base pay range for this position is $125,000 - $150,000.

This base pay range is for a nine-month academic appointment, does not include summer salary, and is subject to negotiation.

Northwestern University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree, training, and field or discipline; departmental budget availability; internal comparators; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
