We are actively seeking a Compliance Analyst to support a Department of Education (ED) program responsible for monitoring, reviewing, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations, agency policies, and program requirements. The Compliance Analyst will evaluate documentation, identify deficiencies, ensure adherence to regulatory standards, and support the program's oversight, reporting, and quality-assurance activities. This is a full-time remote position that may require personnel to be onsite in Washington D.C. with a 24 hour notice. A Public Trust clearance will be required.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze program submissions, documentation, and reports to ensure compliance with Department of Education policies, federal laws, and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate case files and supporting materials for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established guidelines.
- Identify compliance gaps and work with internal teams to recommend corrective actions.
- Assist with compliance monitoring, audits, and quality-assurance reviews.
- Develop, track, and maintain compliance reports, metrics, dashboards, and related documentation.
- Support the development and implementation of compliance processes, checklists, and standard operating procedures.
- Conduct research on applicable regulations, policy updates, and statutory changes impacting the program.
- Draft summaries, findings, and recommendations for program leadership, stakeholders, and auditors.
- Participate in internal meetings, training sessions, and briefings to ensure alignment with program standards.
- Maintain secure and accurate records in accordance with agency guidelines and data-management requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, Policy, Criminal Justice, Legal Studies, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in compliance, auditing, quality assurance, regulatory review, or related work.
- Understanding of federal regulations, compliance frameworks, or government-program oversight.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret regulatory guidance, policies, and program requirements.
- Strong written communication skills, including summarizing findings and drafting formal reports.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Teams) and compliance-tracking tools.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required background investigation or Public Trust suitability.
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting federal agencies, especially the Department of Education or other regulatory bodies.
- Familiarity with administrative compliance frameworks or claims review processes.
- Background in higher-education policy, Title IV programs, or student-aid regulations (preferred but not required).
- Experience working in government-contract environments.
