Summary of Job Duties:The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking to fill the position of Site Coordinator in the School of Education. Site Coordinators are full-time university instructors who work primarily with partnering Pk-12 school districts, serving four major roles. They serve as (1) the liaison between the university and school district, (2) instructors for clinical practice seminar courses and mentor teacher trainings, (3) instructional coaches for teacher candidate interns assigned to their year-long residency, and (4) key participants in the shared governance with school districts for mutually beneficial partnerships. The successful candidate will participate in faculty governance in the School of Education, the College of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences, and Education, and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy. Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Master's Degree in an education or related field;

  • Current teaching license in Arkansas or another state;

  • K-12 teaching experience;

  • Experience mentoring or supporting new teachers.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Experience providing professional development content to teachers;

  • Experience serving as an adjunct instructor at 2- or 4-year institutions of higher education.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • University-Partner School Liaison

    • Implement and maintain the shared governance model between the school and university;

    • Train and support mentor teachers;

    • Collect and summarize data from POP cycles and walk-throughs to discuss at regularly scheduled shared governance meetings.

  • University Instructor

    • Teach internship and internship seminar classes for initial licensure programs;

    • Based on data presented at regularly shared governance meetings, work with EPP faculty to address curricular improvement and innovation;

    • Attend and participate in site coordinator training and ongoing professional development meetings at the school district, university, and national convenings.

  • Instructional Coach

    • Conduct observation and evaluation of residents (walk-throughs and POP cycles) consistent with the Trojan Teacher Residency model;

    • Conduct a minimum of four formal performance assessments of residents (two each semester) during the year-long residency;

    • Work collaboratively with mentor teachers to coach and support residents;

    • Maintain accurate and confidential records of residency assessment data.

  • Professional Conduct

    • Follow all professional conduct guidelines established by the university and district;

    • Establish and maintain mutual respect, trust, communication, and confidentiality with school/district personnel, university faculty and administrators, and residents.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent communication skills, work ethic, and team-oriented dispositions;

  • Ability to use of technology for innovative instruction and/or leadership;

  • Collaborative skills to work with the entire Clinical Coordinating team to maintain consistency of experience and expectations for the residency program;

  • Ability to work with faculty and staff in a collegial manner to engage in faculty governance and accomplish goals.
