Description
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
|
- Sets up the bar-coding system as directed by shop order instructions ensuring that each pallet receives bar-code stickers and proper use of ship by placards
- Understands the proper placement of case code placard on each pallet
- Sets up the wrapper as directed by shop order instructions, including cutting slits in wrap when product is hot
- Understands and responds to equipment deviations, acts quickly to bring equipment back under process control
- Performs quality checks for correct product:
- correct label
- label application
- correct tray
- tray formation
- correct print
- print is legible
- correct film
- film is tight on case with no burn holes
- Notifies supervision of any current or potential mechanical concerns of equipment
- Cases up all dents and unused product in proper cartons, clearly marked as:
- (DENTS, wholes, stewed, diced, etc.)
- (GOOD, wholes, stewed, diced, etc.)
- Performs changeover duties on equipment as required for can size changes
- Performs equipment cleaning as required or scheduled
- Manages the use of stretch wrap film to minimize waste
- Inspects empty pallets to ensure minimum standards are met
- Perform other responsibilities, as required by management
- Adhere to Red Gold policies, rules and regulations, including GMP's, safety, quality and sanitation

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
|
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience
- Working knowledge of all case palletizer equipment operations
- Ability to read and understand: shop order instructions, case codes and can codes
- Have a working knowledge of bar coding systems and operations
- Ability to use basic math & writing skills necessary to complete required paperwork

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

- Effective eye/hand coordination is preferred
- Must have good visual acuity for machine/product inspection
- Detail oriented and accurate
- Ability to multi-task
- Good written and verbal communication skills - Must be able to read and write English
- On the job training includes shadowing an experienced operator and packaging department training program
- Follows directions well

- Responsible for monitoring, record keeping and taking appropriate actions for specific Food Safety Plan and Food Quality Plan and pre requisite program requirements.
- Responsible to report food safety and quality issues to management.
