The Gift Bag Operator position in Leavenworth is on 3rd Shift (11:30pm - 8:00am).

The Gift Bag Operator sets up and operates one or more machines that can involve a combination of processes and/or multiple work stations produce gift bags. Incumbent is expected to be proficient on multiple assignments within this job classification - meeting cost, quality, and service standards on all. Incumbent must exhibit great attention to detail and above average math skills to maintain tolerances related to machinery, counter measurements & proper alignments. Troubleshoots, performs quality checks and maintains/corrects variances using proper tools. Has a sense of urgency to ensure cycle times are being met and customers are pleased with level of service. Fast learner with a continuous improvement mindset and willing to train others.

In this position you will:



  • Operate Equipment: Efficiently operate the gift bag production machine, ensuring smooth and continuous operation.
  • Quality Control: Monitor the production process to ensure that all gift bags meet our quality standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Training: Train new employees on the operation of the gift bag production machine and best practices.
  • Standards: Help create and fine tune Standards and Job instructions
  • Maintenance: Perform routine basic maintenance and adjustments on the equipment to prevent downtime and ensure longevity.

Willing to Travel to Japan for up to 4 weeks for training and acceptance testing.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Ability to frequently move materials weighing 35 pounds and occasionally lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds from the floor
  • Ability to stand and walk approximately 95% of the time
  • Ability to frequently push, pull, twist, bend and reach above shoulder level
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Good math, written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to understand the computer and ordering systems and successfully operate both systems
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and to work under pressure to meet deadlines and changing needs.
  • Ability to reorganize and change directions when necessary
  • Ability to understand and follow established safety procedures for wearing PPE, and handling hazardous chemicals
  • Good planning and organizational skills to set up work area and manage work flow
  • Ability to learn and retain knowledge
  • Understanding and practice of good customer service



ADDITIONAL DETAILS



  • Work overtime as required during peak seasons
  • Required to operate hand powered tools, such as power saws, power drills, etc.
  • There is some noise and hearing protection is required by Hallmark.



This position is located in Leavenworth, Kansas. Relocation is not provided.
