Job Summary

Wabtec is seeking a Remanufacturing Technician to support the disassembly, cleaning, inspection, requalification, rework, and assembly of Traction Motor Combo components in a lean manufacturing environment. This role requires a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency while working with both manual and automated production equipment.

Technicians will inspect completed work to internal quality and engineering standards and may perform special processes such as welding or non-destructive testing (NDT) after completing required training or certification.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely perform all work in compliance with EHS policies and procedures
• Support the manufacture and remanufacture of UX Traction Motor Combo components
• Disassemble, clean, rework, requalify, and assemble components per work instructions
• Operate manual and automated production equipment, including hydraulic and pneumatic tools
• Inspect completed components using fixtures, precision measuring devices, and testing protocols
• Ensure all work meets internal quality and engineering specifications
• Complete and sign off on all required process documentation
• Process components according to internal manufacturing and quality requirements
• Support lean manufacturing principles, including 5S, single-piece flow, and takt time
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred
• Knowledge of EHS and safety procedures
• Ability to safely use hand tools and manual equipment
• Working knowledge of inspection and measurement equipment
• Understanding of manufacturing and quality procedures in a lean environment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures

Training & Performance Requirements

• Safely progress through on-the-job training
• Successfully complete internal quality audits for assigned product lines or equipment
• Demonstrate ability to safely operate manual and automated equipment
• Accurately use gauges and inspection tools for testing and verification
• Properly document and record inspection results per internal procedures
• Maintain acceptable defect and quality performance levels
• Complete all required safety training and special process certifications, where applicable
