HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSION The Wildlife Care Supervisor is responsible for and oversees all aspects of the welfare, safe care, and handling of an assigned wildlife collection and contributes to collection strategic planning. The Wildlife Care Supervisor is responsible for the daily supervision of the staff and the routines to ensure safe care and handling of an assigned wildlife collection. This position reports to the Wildlife Care Manager or Director of Veterinary Services.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Maui Bird Conservation Center is home to many species of critically endangered Hawaiian birds. We are looking for a Wildlife Care Supervisor who is steady, adaptable, and able to guide a small team through the detailed and demanding work of conservation breeding. The ideal candidate brings strong problem-solving skills, communicates clearly, stays organized, and maintains high standards of animal care, welfare, and safety. This role requires someone who can coordinate complex tasks, work well with partners and diverse teams, and support staff in professional and approachable ways. Candidates should have a genuine commitment to conservation in Hawai i, respect for local context and culture, and ability to serve and adapt with the organization in a fast-paced and high-stakes environment. We are seeking someone who is committed to learning about all aspects of conservation breeding at MBCC, open to feedback, and can maintain a positive, practical attitude.
