Summary:

The Subsea Umbilical Engineer is responsible for the design, specification, procurement, installation, and commissioning of subsea umbilical systems for offshore oil and gas projects. This role involves technical oversight, project management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective delivery of subsea umbilical solutions. The engineer will be engaged throughout the project lifecycle, from concept selection to operations support.

Duties:

  • Lead the end-to-end engineering, integration, and field execution of Subsea Umbilical's for deepwater development wells within a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) environment.

  • Own the technical assurance, schedule integration, and risk management for well hook-up activities (including installation, commissioning, and handover), ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient delivery aligned with operator standards, class rules, and regulatory requirements.

  • Proven leadership in PMC or operator-side project delivery for large-scale, multi-well developments with high-risk elements (HP/HT, >1,500 m water depth, complex SIMOPS).

  • Knowledge of subsea controls, power distribution, and fiber optic communications.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Subsea, or Ocean Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in subsea umbilical engineering.
  • Proven experience in design, procurement, manufacturing and installation of subsea umbilicals.
  • Experience with deepwater projects and advanced subsea technologies.
  • Typically, 15+ years in subsea engineering and field execution, with 10+ years specific to Subsea Umbilical scopes on deepwater projects.
