Position Summary The Chief Operating Officer is responsible for providing strong, effective and inspired leadership for all operational areas of the hospital and shared services. The COO is an integral member of the senior leadership team that establishes the strategic goals and objectives on behalf of Long Beach Medical Center (THE LBC) and Miller Children's & Women's Hospital (MCWH) collectively referred to at the Long Beach Campus (LBC). The COO is responsible for ongoing planning, development, implementation and continuous improvement of the programs and services provided by the LBC and for ensuring that the operations are in compliance with all federal, state, funding, and city regulations, certifications, and licensing requirements. In addition, the COO will be responsible for creating a synergistic and collaborative culture with the staff, management team and medical staff. As a member of the senior executive management team, the COO participates in system-wide initiatives as requested. Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
