Overview

How you can make a difference

The Sr Project Manager has responsibility to manage projects of moderate complexity from initiation to delivery. This role may manage one or more complex internal and/or external projects at any given time. This position ensures that all scope, quality, budgetary and scheduling targets, and requirements are met, ensuring consistent communication of all facets of the project occurs.

What you'll be doing

    Define and plan projects: Establishes project scope, objectives, schedules, and resource needs from initiation to delivery.
  • Manage project plans and schedules: Create, maintain, and update project plans, agendas, and systems, outlining tasks, dependencies, and timelines. Track progress and provide regular updates.
  • Understand and communicate stakeholder needs: Gather information to understand requirements and effectively communicate relevant information to stakeholders.
  • Acquire and manage project resources: Identify and secure necessary resources (personnel, materials) across departments and external providers, ensuring timely availability.
  • Coordinate and monitor project execution: Oversee daily project progress, assign responsibilities, and ensure efficient workflow to meet project targets and timelines.
  • Identifies and acquires appropriate resources needed, ensuring availability as necessary for project deliverables. Manages resources within respective departments, other internal departments, outside service providers. This may include collaboration with functional department managers to assemble project teams.
  • Serve as primary point of contact: Communicate project status, address inquiries, and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Risk Assessments: Conducts risk assessment of strategic, technical, financial, or business factors affecting multiple projects. Works to mitigate risk where feasible, relays pertinent information as appropriate, and escalates issues where necessary. Identifies internal and external factors jeopardizing the project and escalates issues as appropriate.
  • Conduct post-project reviews: Facilitate reviews to identify lessons learned and recommend improvements to methodologies.

What you will need to be successful

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of related project management experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required, Lean Six Sigma (LSS) preferred.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with the benefits industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Service and Operations functions and their interrelationships within an organization.

Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in Project Management concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to define issues, analyze data, and draw conclusions for effective project management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels, provide guidance, and lead.
  • Proven ability to effectively organize, plan, coordinate, monitor, and manage projects, with a strong understanding of project scope, objectives, and team roles.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work within specific time constraints.

Salary Range

$80,000.00 To $111,000.00 / year
