Overview
The Agency of Transportation (VTrans) is seeking Civil Engineers for the Roadway Design and the Structures Sections of the Project Delivery Bureau. There is an open position in Roadway Design where the incumbent will perform various duties of highway design including drafting plans, specifications, and calculating quantities for roadway reconstruction, small culvert rehabilitation, and ledge/slope stabilization. There is also open positions in Structures where the incumbent will be responsible for development of project plans, specifications, and estimates for projects that focus on bridges/pipes/retaining walls and much more across the state. The ideal candidate should have an interest in foundations, roadway, traffic, or structural bridge design, cost estimating, strong computer design and 3D modeling skills, the ability to work on multiple projects at a given time, and strong communication skills. This position will be located in Barre City Place in Barre, VT with an opportunity to telework. Common Job Duties:

Duties are generally performed in both office and field settings for which private means of transportation must be available. Fieldwork may involve exposure to hazardous materials, traffic hazards and, construction sites during all weather conditions and may involve traversing rough terrain and bodies of water. Some work outside of regular working hours, including attendance at public meetings, may be required. Strong differences of opinion may be encountered on a regular basis. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, architectural engineering, or related technical field AND two (2) year of engineering experience. Total Compensation
