This position is a limited position with the possibility of extension/career conversion. Under the supervision of the Director of Outreach and Admission, the incumbent will work as an Eating Disorder Admission Clinician providing comprehensive clinical and psycho-social assessments to complex, incoming patients and families for the UCSD Eating Disorder Treatment Program; and will be responsible for recruiting and co-leading for intensive family therapy (IFT) weeks. Incumbent will also provide therapeutic interventions to engage patients and families to commit to treatment. This role will also work with the insurance team to help train clinicians for clinical insurance reviews and streamline such procedures. Other duties include: evaluate and interpret psychosocial aspects of mental and emotional disturbances to families and other health professionals; prepare comprehensive intake reports and maintain clinical records; coordinate care with other healthcare providers to facilitate admission and ensure continuity of care; obtain initial authorization for treatment; provide consultation to and maintain liaison with community programs etc. In addition, incumbent will attend weekly training and workshops; and report on patient admissions progress in weekly treatment team meetings for evaluation. Lastly, this position will provide trainings for community members as an outreach effort. Incumbent will also be responsible for but not limited to: responding to complex or escalated patient issues; representing the center on a range of interdisciplinary committees; consulting with the program director on policy, program formulation.
