THE ROLE

The Trade Desk (TTD) is seeking an accomplished and visionary Vice President, Business Development - Regulatory and Franchise Verticals, to lead our global strategy and relationships with the world's leading brands. This leader will own and scale several of The Trade Desk's most strategically critical verticals-each complex on its own, togetherrepresentinga massive share of revenue, influence, and future growth.

This is a true GM-style role.This person willrun multiple vertical businesses in parallel, each with distinct buying dynamics, regulatory realities, and agency relationships-while building a cohesive operating model across them.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Run the Business:



  • Develop a multi-billion-dollar book of business,setting vertical-specific strategies that reflect distinct market dynamics across QSR, Finance, & Insurance, Auto, Pharma, and Canada.
  • Balance near-term revenue delivery with durable, multi-year growth.
  • Make clear investment and prioritization decisions across verticals.


Own Executive Engagement:



  • Serve as senior executive sponsor to C-suite clients, agencies, and holding companies.
  • Navigate regulatory-heavy environments (Finance, Pharma) with credibility and discipline.
  • Represent TTD externally with authority and clarity.


Build the Operating System:



  • Establish consistent operating rhythms across diverse vertical teams
  • Drive forecasting rigor, pipeline quality, and resource allocation
  • Ensure leaders are aligned on priorities whileretainingvertical nuance


Build Leaders at Scale:



  • Hire, develop, andretainsenior leaders across regions and verticals
  • Create clarity in org design, decision rights, and accountability
  • Raise the bar on talent density and leadership maturity



QUALIFICATIONS



  • 15+ years of experience in advertiser leadership, strategic partnerships or business development roles with deep knowledge of brand marketing and media investment strategies
  • Proven track record of leading a $4B+ book of business with full accountability
  • Strong commercial acumen, including understanding of marketing P&L, media planning and buying workflows and programmatic advertising ecosystems
  • Experience leading large, complex teams (40+ FTE; 150+ preferred)
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, capable of navigating complex multi-party agreements with agency HoldCos and multi-billion dollar clients
  • Global perspective with success leading distributed teams and scaling programs across multiple regions

Thisisn'ta single-vertical GM job.It'sa portfolio role-requiring judgment, delegation, and pattern recognition at scale. You'llbe trusted to run major parts of the company with autonomy, backed by real authority and expectations.

CO, CA, IL, NY, WA, and Washington DC residents only: In accordance with CO, CA, IL, NY, WA, and Washington DC law, the range provided is The Trade Desk's reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. All employees may be eligible to become The Trade Desk shareholders through eligibility for stock-based compensation grants, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance. The Trade Desk also offers other compensation depending on the role such as sales-based incentives and commissions. Plus, expected benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents, retirement benefits such as a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, well-being benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, parental leave, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full-time employees up to 120 hours thru the first year and 160 hours thereafter, and around 13 paid holidays per year. At the Trade Desk, Base Salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is
$194,500 $356,600 USD
