The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview: A well-established Bariatric program looking for a full time Physician Assistant to join our busy practice. The Physician Assistant will provide clinical expertise in both the inpatient and outpatient setting in providing high quality patient care, assist the Bariatric Program and ensure continuous compliance with MBSAQIP requirements. Qualifications: Required: Valid license/certificate as a Physician Assistant in the State of NJ required DEA License required Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required Strong new graduates with a demonstrated passion for surgery are also encouraged to apply Scheduling Requirements: Full Time Day Shift 37.5 hours Essential Functions: Provides comprehensive obesity centric health assessments within multi-disciplinary team. Completes H&P documentation, pre-op preparation and OR and first assist support Responsible for inpatient management of patients, procedures according to credentialing, discharge planning and transitions in care, care coordination, and education of patients, family and staff Assist in the outpatient-based clinic managing both non-surgical and surgical patient populations. Prescribes anti-obesity pharmacotherapy to manage obesity and its related co-morbidities. Attends and participates in department team meetings and support groups. Identify opportunities for and implement program growth initiatives and ensure continuous compliance with MBSAQIP requirements.
