STS Technical Services is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to support a growing manufacturing operation in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the production floor, solving real-time challenges, and helping engineered-to-order products move efficiently from concept to completion.

You will play a hands-on role supporting daily production, improving processes, and collaborating across engineering, industrial engineering, and manufacturing teams.


Position Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer supports day-to-day production and technical activities related to engineered-to-order products. This position focuses on process improvement, documentation, production support, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure quality, safety, and on-time delivery.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily production and resolve technical issues related to engineered-to-order products
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures capturing current production processes
  • Implement safety, ergonomic, and production rate improvements
  • Develop, audit, and continuously improve department quality and production goals
  • Serve as a technical point of contact for supervisors and production operators
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and customer requirements
  • Create manufacturing plans that meet customer specifications
  • Utilize ERP software to guide production processes and cost tracking
  • Work directly with production departments to ensure strong process flow
  • Identify and support cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with Industrial Engineering on projects and process optimization
  • Support customer requirements with a focus on quality and on-time delivery
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to quickly become familiar with manufacturing processes
  • Interest in working primarily in a fast-paced production environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with changing priorities
  • Ability to read and understand technical prints and specifications
  • Comfortable working independently and within cross-functional teams
  • Interest or experience using ERP software in a manufacturing environment
  • Entry-level to three years of manufacturing or engineering experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline or related field preferred
  • Ability to sign non-compete and confidentiality agreements
  • Must pass a competency test and pre-employment physical, including drug screening
