The Role

Suffolk is seeking an energetic and proactive Assistant Manager, Corporate Events to join our Corporate Marketing team. Partnering with the Senior Manager, Corporate Events, this individual will support the planning and execution of company events (meetings, road shows, client receptions, celebrations, etc.) by handling logistics, vendor coordination, budget tracking, and on-site setup/execution. As a national construction company with 15 offices and more than 2,000 employees, this individual will partner with stakeholders across the country to deliver best-in-class event experiences consistent with Suffolk standards.

Corporate events are a critical extension of Suffolk's brand - for both internal and external audiences - and when executed well, they can influence partners, inspire employees, reinforce mission and help advance our industry. This individual will help shape how Suffolk (and our verticals) shows up in the world, delivering memorable experiences and cutting-edge content that drive lasting impact.



Responsibilities

    Assist in planning, scheduling, marketing and executing both in-person and virtual corporate events, with additional focus on Suffolk Northeast's annual signature events
  • Partner cross-functionally with Corporate Marketing, Business Development, People & Culture, External Relations and more to align events with business and brand priorities
  • Research venues and draft proposals for unique off-site meetings, events and leadership retreats that build relationships and drive business goals
  • Liaise with vendors (venue, caterer, AV, decor, photographer, printer, swag etc) to ensure contracts and direction are correct
  • Partner with key stakeholders and creative to ensure presentations, materials, giveaways and signage are consistent with brand standards
  • Coordinate itineraries, room blocks and travel for offsite executive retreats
  • Track expenses, manage contracts, process payments, and maintain event records
  • Serve as a point of contact at events, overseeing setup, managing registration and volunteers, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring quality standards are met
  • Gather post-event feedback, conduct debriefs, and produce event recaps - with the goal of constant improvement
  • Help build scalable systems and playbooks so execution is consistent nationally
  • Raise the bar for Suffolk events and introduce new concepts and ideas that bring value to our employees, partners and the industry


Qualifications

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, event planning, marketing, public relations, business administration or similar
  • 3+ years of experience in hospitality, event planning, marketing or similar
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel for events
  • Ability to work occasional weeknights and weekends as needed
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and event software

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stands; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Compensation Information

The expected salary range for this position (Assistant Manager, Corporate Events) in Boston, MA is between $88.0 and $120.0 (annualized USD). This represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Suffolk's total compensation package. Actual salaries may be based on several factors including, but not limited to, skill set, experience, education and other qualifications. Suffolk offers a comprehensive benefits package as part of its overall compensation strategy. Salary ranges may differ by geography and are reviewed regularly to reflect market trends.
