JOB SUMMARY DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB

The Domestic Tax Manager is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and managing federal, state, and local tax filings, as well as supporting tax planning initiatives for the organization and its related entities. This role requires strong technical tax expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/RESULTS

Tax Compliance



  • Prepare and/or review all aspects of the federal, state, and local income tax returns for the company and related entities.
  • Manage quarterly and annual estimated tax payments.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax forms
  • Monitor legislative changes and evaluate their impact on the company's tax position.


Tax Accounting



  • Assist with year-end tax provisions in accordance with GAAP.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for internal and external financial reporting.
  • Maintain tax depreciation schedules and reconcile tax and book fixed asset differences.


Tax Planning & Strategy



  • Support tax planning opportunities to optimize tax efficiency and reduce risk for the business and its owners.
  • Research complex federal and state tax issues; prepare memos and recommendations for management.
  • Assist in evaluating the tax impact of business transactions, investments, and new entity formations.


Audit & Compliance Support



  • Coordinate responses to IRS and state tax authority inquiries and audits.
  • Maintain organized records and documentation to support tax positions and filings.
  • Work with external tax advisors as needed to resolve issues or support specialized tax matters.


Process Improvement



  • Identify opportunities to streamline tax processes, strengthen internal controls, and expand automation.
  • Maintain documented tax procedures and ensure continuity within the finance team.



JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education




    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field



Experience




    • 10+ years domestic tax experience
    • CPA preferred



Knowledge / Technical Requirements



  • Strong experience with ERP and tax preparation systems
  • Prior experience in a multi-entity organizational structure
  • Excelled computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as the ability to use email and internet

  • Advanced knowledge of accounting standards
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills


Salary and Other Compensation:

The target pay rate for this position is between $162,450 - $171,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include: geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is eligible for monthly uncapped commissions in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan.
