Position Summary Faculty members at or above any rank(from instructor to professor and rank is commensurate with experience) with academic interests in inflammatory bowel disease, motility (particularly able to perform esophageal and anorectal manometry studies) and short bowel/intestinal transplant. Duties & Responsibilities The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in the Department of Medicine at the University of Illinois Chicago is seeking faculty members at or above any rank(from instructor to professor and rank is commensurate with experience) with academic interests in inflammatory bowel disease, motility (particularly able to perform esophageal and anorectal manometry studies) and short bowel/intestinal transplant. University of Illinois Chicago is a top-tier public university. An excellent Gl fellowship program, state-of-the-art brand-new endoscopy suite and clinic opened October 2022, and a wide breadth of clinical and basic science expertise in the division makes this an excellent opportunity for Gl fellows graduating from a strong university program, or a mid-career gastroenterologist who is interested in teaching and clinical research as a faculty member. MD or DO or equivalent degree is required. Candidates should be BC/BE in gastroenterology and hepatology; and eligible to work in Illinois. Candidates should have a clinical focus in IBD, short bowel/intestinal transplant and motility (particularly able to perform esophageal and anorectal manometry studies) or inflammatory bowel disease or nutrition (particularly able to care for patients on TPN) and intestinal transplant. Candidates in these specified particular areas of motility, IBD, and nutrition are preferred. Academic productivity is expected and candidates with an interest in scholarly activity and teaching trainees are encouraged to join our established program.
