Overview Strategic Planning is looking to hire a dedicated, driven individual with a demonstrated commitment to excellence as a Senior Analyst in its group.To be successful the Senior Analyst must be able to exercise independent judgment and possess the ability to render sound business decisions/ actionable insights. The candidate will be organized, detail oriented, flexible to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines. The role will require strong interpersonal, leadership and influencing skills. The candidate will possess an executive presence and will interact with various levels of management, including senior management.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- The Senior Analyst will independently monitor, analyze, and develop executive-level insights around industry/energy trends including technology, customer behavior and evaluate the performance and prospects of existing and potential businesses.
- Conduct strategic review of existing regulated businesses as well as other businesses under consideration and continuously assess the industry landscape.
- Engage in problem solving, perform research, independent modeling and provide analytical support to evaluate business challenges and opportunities.
- Evaluate business and decarbonization strategies to enable a clean energy transition.
- Collaborate with partner organizations to identify actions and investments to advance business strategy, related system infrastructure impacts, and financial considerations
- Support strategic initiatives by providing advice/counsel to CEI and business unit management.
- Take leadership and / or supporting roles on cross-functional project teams and perform data analyses and trending /modeling in areas related to technologies, scenario development or other areas of the Companys long-range planning efforts.
- Track and evaluate relevant policy developments for utility and adjacent industries
- Develop presentations and effectively communicate insights with business unit leadership, senior management, and external stakeholders.
- Support regulatory filings and both internal and external studies with various stakeholders
- As required, train/support junior team members.
- Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of work experience
Preferred Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Economics (or Finance), Engineering or Mathematics. and 3 years of work experience.
Relevant Work Experience
- Abstract / complex data or financial modeling experience, required. Required
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.), required. Required
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, required. Required
- Ability to compile/analyze and synthesize data into presentations and reports, required. Required
- Project management experience, required. Required
- Work experience that includes Economics, Finance, Engineering, or Mathematics, required. Required
- Three years experience in the utility/energy industry, or a strong demonstrated capability to understand strategic issues in the utility/energy industry, required. Preferred
- Experience leading teams, Junior Analyst or supervising projects, preferred. Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- Driver's License Required
Physical Demands
- Sit or stand to use a keyboard, mouse, and computer for the duration of the workday
Additional Physical Demands
- The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able and willing to travel, as needed.
