Job Summary: |
The Department of Neurosurgery at University of Colorado Denver, School of Medicine, is seeking a full-time Neurosurgeon. The position will be at the Associate Professor of Clinical Practice providing general neurosurgery services at both Anschutz and in community locations. He or she will participate in daily morning rounds, conferences, and grand rounds. Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a neurosurgeon at Anschutz and in community location providing both general and specialized skills
- See patients in clinic to review their case and determine suitability for surgery
- Perform neurosurgery procedures on patients as determined by your medical/surgical expertise
- Work with neurosurgery team to attain quality metrics set by Dept of Neurosurgery
- Educate residents and fellows
- Maintain all training, certifications, licensing to be up to date and able to practice

Our Department has very specialized surgeons and programs with expertise in Neuro-Spine, Endovascular Neurosurgery, Skull-Based/Tumor, Functional and Stereotactic, Neuro ICU and Neuropsychology. We also offer an ACGME approved residency program in Neurosurgery that offers 2 to 3 resident opportunities every other year. One-year fellowships are offered in all our specialties for advanced training. We have increased our research operations with 19 new grants in FY24, totaling over $1 Million dollars in new funding dollars in FY24 and are hoping to expand these endeavors over the next 3-5 years. Qualifications: |
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
- MD/DO
- Graduate of an accredited Neurosurgery residency
- Fellowship trained in Neurosurgery specialty
- 10 years experience as a Neurosurgeon
- Maintains or is eligible for Colorado State Medical License
Preferred Qualifications:
- Comfort performing a wide range of general neurosurgery procedures in adult patients. Interest in growing both a practice at Anschutz and a community hospital-based practice.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other physicians and staff at all levels throughout the institution. Demonstrated leadership and commitment to fostering equitable and welcoming environments

Anticipated Pay Range: |
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE: $686,000-$807,000 The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
